You can detect cheers, applause, filler words, edit transcript to edit audio, create audiograms and export in different formats. We also have a chrome extension that transcribes any audio/video on the page you are on. After transcription you can follow along with the audio and read the transcribed text while the audio is playing. You can search for spoken content in a podcast or other audio/video content in your browser. There are some limitations, our product only works on Chrome and Firefox, we only support english for now and audio longer than an hour is not guaranteed to be transcribed (we will lift this limitation soon) links: https://revoldiv.com chrome extension: https://ift.tt/3rc8Kak... https://revoldiv.com/ January 29, 2022 at 12:02AM

Show HN: Jig – Live coding your business dashboards (now with demo video) https://ift.tt/3GhDvio
Show HN: Jig – Live coding your business dashboards (now with demo video) Hi again HN, Last month I posted this Show HN [0], which was well received but most comments were by people asking for a demo / video / docs, because the install step was too much a barrier for entry. So here it is updated with video and (partial) documentation. I really wish I can get people's feedback on the tool itself. About Jig: Jig is a live coding environment to quickly create interactive business dashboards / small internal apps. My target customers are growing startups who spend too much time in Excel/Google Sheets to create their growth reports / retention charts / ad hoc analyses, while they have the coding expertise to compute metrics with a proper programming language. The language is Javascript, but you don't need to know any html/css/d3 for charts or tables, cause all that part's taken care of. Connecting to databases and or APIs is also straightforward, so all you need to write is code that transform your data in the way you want to present it. It's meant to be light and nimble (no server / no database needed) and it runs on your computer. Sorry for those who've seen this before, I won't repost soon. Show HN: Nectr–trying to kill the résumé over here https://ift.tt/3IKpZVQ
Show HN: Nectr–trying to kill the résumé over here Hi HN, I'm Matthew from Nectr (https://nectr.network). Nectr is a service that lets IT professionals easily create a free, sharable profile that accurately captures your skills, experience and availability. With this functionality "in the can", we're in midst of extending our service to let you create a genuine, uncontrived network of colleagues that you've actually worked with and who can accurately confirm your skills and experience. These confirmations will form the edges in our graph that comprise your first degree network. As a long time freelancer, I started working on Nectr to fill a requirement that I've long had: ditching my Word-formatted résumé for good—and automatically answering the oft-asked question: "Are you available?". Existing options (LinkedIn, StackOverflow, JSON resume, etc.) just don't fit the bill. How is Nectr different than the alternatives? - Your profile (example here: https://ift.tt/3u7kqwW) is completely open—the viewer does not need to have an account on Nectr. You can also append .json to the end of your profile URL to get a machine-friendly version. The ability to maintain your profile will always be free. - Your skills and platform knowledge are bound to entries in our knowledge graph of IT skills and platforms. This has (obvious?) advantages over the simple keyword tags used in most other services. - Our concept of availability is extremely granular. For instance, you can set an availability for a certain rate, or engagement type or zip code. In other words, we know that availability isn't binary. Further, we know that people can have multiple availabilities. For example, you might be willing to work on freelance crypto projects up to 10 hours a week after hours, but also might be open to a full time job close to your home. - If you hate our UI (hey, we get it), we'll soon open up our GraphQL API so you can maintain your profile programmatically. We're currently in preview release (aka unfunded!), so we're limiting the number of accounts while we work out the kinks. If you're an IT professional and this sounds like something you'd be down for, you can sign up here: https://nectr.network January 28, 2022 at 02:24AM

Give it a data schema (many compound types supported, including recursive types), an encoding (JSON, CSV or ClickHouse) and a target (a file or a Kafka partition) and a data rate and it will generate a reasonably optimized (native code) random data source. Show HN: SPyQL – SQL with Python in the middle https://ift.tt/3H67TgS
Show HN: SPyQL – SQL with Python in the middle SPyQL ( https://ift.tt/3rJfzPE ) is SQL with Python in the middle, an open-source project fully written in Python for making command-line data processing more intuitive, readable and powerful. Try mixing in the same pot: a SQL SELECT for providing the structure, Python expressions for defining transformations and conditions, the essence of awk as a data-processing language, and the JSON handling capabilities of jq. How does a SPyQL query looks like? $ spyql “ IMPORT pendulum AS p SELECT (p.now() - p.from_timestamp(purchase_ts)).in_days() AS days_ago, sum_agg(price * quantity) AS total FROM csv WHERE department.upper() == 'IT' and purchase_ts is not Null GROUP BY 1 ORDER BY 1 TO json” < my_purchases.csv In a single statement we are 1) reading a CSV (of purchases) with automatic header detection, dialect detection, type inference and casting, 2) filtering out records that do not belong to the IT department or do not have a purchase timestamp 3) summing the total purchases and grouping by how many days ago they happened, 4) sorting from the most to the least recent day and 5) writing the result in JSON format. All this without loading the full dataset into memory. The Readme is loaded with recipes and there is also a demo video: https://vimeo.com/danielcmoura/spyqldemo Any feedback is welcomed! Thank you. https://github.com/dcmoura/spyql January 25, 2022 at 06:29PM

Show HN: I wrote a book on Site Reliability Engineering Hello! I just published a book on Site Reliability Engineering. https://ift.tt/3FXXour This book is a collection of 28 chapters on SRE concepts, such as observability, monitoring, Service Level Objectives (SLOs), alerting, resilience and debugging. I adapted each chapter from blog posts I've written over the last 4 years. Most of the chapters detailed concepts that I applied while working at $dayjob, so they are 100% proven in real business settings :) ------ Some info on the backstory. Last year I started writing a book on my software development methodology. I put in ~80 hours and am ~25% done. I began getting discouraged and I wanted the practice of actually shipping an entire book from start to finish. I took 28 blog posts and combined them to create this book. I put in ~20 hours editing the book myself. I'm really happy to have this experience and am looking forward to resuming my other book. I used leanpub to generate the pdf and epubs. Leanpub has its own markdown flavor called markua. I was originally drawn to leanpub because it has a pretty popular tech listing website. I didn't actually list on leanpub because they only pay using paypal, so I listed on amazon KDP instead. Thank you! January 24, 2022 at 10:51PM

Show HN: qme: simple utility for queueing long-running commands https://ift.tt/3Am2sHP
Show HN: qme: simple utility for queueing long-running commands I keep needing a way to run long-running resource intensive tasks after one another. Normally, I'd write a script which loops over the items, but not knowing what needs to run (I pick files as I go through a folder), I knew it's time I create something to scratch my own itch. So, I've created this utility to queue up commands. It captures command, args, env and working directory and puts it in a queue, and runs it when it's time. At the same time, it spins up an RPC server to receive commands from other instances. If there's no server available, it becomes a server itself and waits for commands or shuts itself down after idling for some time. This is my first (published) Golang project, so guidance & review would be appreciated. https://ift.tt/3fMMi0O January 21, 2022 at 11:31PM

Show HN: Aamu.app – all-in-one productivity tool Hi there HN. Aamu.app is an app that I've made and I hope to get some feedback. It aims to have all the most important productivity tools (for companies) in one package. It will hopefully get more of those features in time, but currently there are already quite a few – tasks, docs, video meetings and so on. Why did I do it? Because I thought the current ones were not that good, and I'm talking about things like Microsoft's offering now. The different parts of their software were clumsy and they were not integrated very well into the whole – i.e. different parts were not designed in collaboration in mind. I realize it's quite a big app for one person to do, but let's just say that I felt I needed to do and finish it. Couldn't stop after I had started it. --- Here's an url you can try it without registering into it, and the usernames/passwords: https://piper.aamu.app/ username: richard ... password: richard1 username: gilfoyle ... password: gilfoyle username: bighead ... password: nbighead username: dinesh ... password: xxdinesh --- The main url of the site: https://aamu.app/ Hope to get some feedback, thanks! Show HN: NFT Options Trading on Solana GM to all, We've been working on an opensource NPM package and tool https://nftoptions.app for creating options contracts on the Solana blockchain. The client is in nodejs https://ift.tt/3Fm8U3f , with an onchain server written in Rust https://ift.tt/3rs867f This package allows you to easily create options contracts for tokens on Solana, with specific expiry times and strike values on the blockchain in one line of code. Similarly, you can use it to mint tokens and create contracts on those tokens. This allows you to do things like mint an NFT for a piece of art and then sell a call contract to buy that NFT at a predefined price. Each contract is tied to an NFT too, so you can easily trade them as well. The onchain program is currently available on Solana devnet and testnet. We hope to launch on mainnet soon and possibly drop the NFTs on platforms such as Solsea for easy exchange. Currently, the web app https://nftoptions.app only supports the Phantom wallet but we are looking to add more soon. We are looking for feedback, contributors and testers. Issues can be filed on the GitHub. As always, any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks y’all. January 19, 2022 at 02:43AM
